How to choose Temperature Sensors in Heat Treatment?

Have you ever purchased the wrong thermocouple? It happens and it is annoying

But enough is enough. Not anymore! Select the right sensor for your application with these simple steps:

  1. Define the en use: calibration, test, control or load thermocouple
  2. Know the exact range of use: usually defined by the qualified operating temperature
  3. Specify test points. Fixed points or calibration intervals no greater than 250 °F (140 °C)
  4. Designate wire type and insulation: Base Thermocouples: K, T, J, E and N. Noble Thermocouples: S, R and B
  5. Insurance calibration compliance. AMS2750 section 3.1.2 defines the requirements of the calibration certificate
